Accounting Manager

The Role

We’re looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our financial and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will manage billing, accounting transactions, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while continuously improving financial and accounting processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Rosedale International Education Inc. (RIE) is a global education and technology provider based in Toronto, Canada, with a mission to reshape the future of worldwide education.

RIE owns and operates Rosedale Global High School, which partners with international schools and government organizations to deliver the Canadian Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)program locally, using collaborative in-person programs and digital technology.

Your Responsibilities

Billing and Accounting Management

  • Oversee and manage the entire invoicing cycle to ensure the timely and accurate invoicing for partners. Monitor payment collections to ensure all receivables are processed and follow up on overdue accounts as Rosedale policies and processes
  • Supervise daily accounting operations, including the accurate processing of transactions related to expense management, accounts payable, and account reconciliations, to ensure the compliance with accounting standards and Rosedale policies
  • Design and enforce an internal controls practice to ensure financial integrity and accuracy
  • Collaborate with external accounting firm to manage tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax documents whiling seeking opportunities of tax optimization

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and deliver regular financial reports, providing leadership with clear and accurate information on financial performance
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis to assess Rosedale’s overall financial health, profitability and operational efficiency, to support strategic business decision-making
  • Work with leadership to support business strategy by providing financial insights and advisory.

Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Lead the development of financial forecasts for Rosedale’s business and operations. Regularly refine forecasts to reflect changing business dynamics.
  • Lead corporate level budgeting process, collaborating with departments to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of departmental budgets. Provide regular budget updates and detailed explanations of variance to meet the organization’s goals.
  • Work with department heads to track and manage department-specific budgets, evaluating cost-efficiency, identifying areas for potential savings, and recommending measures for improving financial performance across the business.

Practice and Process Improvement

  • Continuously improve financial and accounting practices and processes at both corporate and department level to align with corporate objectives, create business value, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Monitor and provide guidance on government and CRA compliance, policies and incentive programs to ensure adherence and optimize financial benefits

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of working experience in accounting manager or senior accounting specialist role
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related
  • Professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CFA) is requested
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial reporting and analytics, and partnering with senior leaders
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Excel, with a solid understanding of financial systems and tools
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to think critically and provide actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and high standards of professionalism
  • Ability to manage multitasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
